How to pressed logo on leather?

You can press the leather with metal or tinted foil, or you can imprint it with a design indentation.

Pressed leather. – What do I need?

machine

You first need a machine capable of stamping leather, and if you want to add foil to it, you need a machine with a heating plate system. The HXM-368 is the perfect beginner’s machine for both options; It is manually operated, simple to use and easy to set up. The machine can generate up to 1 ton of pressure, which should be enough to make a small mark on most leather materials. Some materials and larger -images may require more pressure, if this is the case then we recommend looking at the HX-368, which is a pneumatic machine (meaning it uses compressed air) that can produce up to 3 tons of pressure. These machines are mainly gilding machines, thus providing for the running of hot gilding foil through the machine. If you also need to meet the leather die-cutting, indentation, stamping and other functions, then you can take a look at our HX-468 and HX-568, they can be used for A3 area of flat fabric, pressure up to 8T/15T/30T.

Dies/stamps

The second thing you’ll need is a metal stamp also known as a mold or stamp. We always recommend brass molds when stamping into leather. These types of molds are produced using CNC engraving methods with clear lines and high precision to achieve the deeper image machining depth necessary due to the softness of the leather material – when pressed or peeled, you will have the ability to push the material further, providing you with a clearer image or logo impression.

Hot gold foil leather

Finally, if you want to add foil to leather, then you will need a specialized hot bronzing foil which, if chosen improperly, will not adhere to the material adequately and will come off easily. Ordinary hot gilding foil is only suitable for graphic materials. Due to the natural textured surface and occasional use of curing/treating chemicals for leather, this can make it difficult to foil the leather, so you can also opt for our leather specific foil, which performs well on both synthetic/artificial leather and derma. Whether your designs are broad or subtle, they work very well.
